A sharp long lens for semi-pro that has great image stabilization (VR). A little too heavy to be a walkabout lens, but fast and hand holdable for majority of shots

A highly recommended walkabout camera bag that works very well the Nikon 200-500mm with a SLR camera body attached. While a backpack is necessary for longer trips, this works great for that 1-2 miles hikes where the camera and lens need to be accessible within a few seconds
An alternate lower cost body compared to the D500. Does not do as well in autofocus, ISO performance, and continuous shots performance. Still a great body for a < $1000 price
Provides more juice and better balance with the long lens.
Small, light and fast and a prime. It's also sharp as a tack. You lose the versatility of a zoom, but complements the 200-500 zoom well
