Al Mandi Al Dhahabi

This restaurant is classified as an eatery for Omani and Zanzibari cuisine, however its main forte is in Middle Eastern food. A favourite amongst Oman's expat community Al Mandi Al Dhahabi is tipped to serve the best in traditionally cooked rice and meat dishes in Nizwa. The ambiance within the place is relaxed with large comfy chairs and grand views of the Nizwa Fort. The restaurant is located in front of the bustling Nizwa Souq.

Bin Ateeq Restaurant

If you are on a scout for authentic Omani food this is one of the best restaurants to frequent. Bin Ateeq is one of a collection of chain restaurants, specialising in traditional Omani fare. Meals are served at low tables with seating on the ground and although the interiors may not be very plush the food quite makes up for this in taste. Bin Ateeq Restaurant is located just off Main Street.

Al Duhli Restaurant

The Al Duhli specialises in Middle Eastern fare; it is not a ritzy eatery but spills onto the pavement where locals pull up in their cars for a quick takeaway. Nevertheless, the place is best for a delicious range of kebabs and shawarmas made in true Arabic style. Best of all it is located in front of the Nizwa Souq and mosque both of which are lit up at night, making the restaurant and excellent view point.

Juniper Restaurant

If you are looking for some classy dining in Nizwa the best are located within the resort hotels in Nizwa. The Juniper Restaurant housed within the Alila Jabal Akhdar is so named after the Juniper trees which thrive in the beautiful highlands of Oman. Just as beautiful are the traditional interiors of this restaurant, resembling the elegance and style of true Arabic hospitality as you dine to gorgeous views of the mountains. On the menu are dishes from the 'Golden Age' of Arabic cuisine which incorporates the culinary delights of ancient trade routes stretching from the Middle East to the Mediterranean. Fine dining is perfected at the Juniper restaurant which boasts the freshest ingredients handpicked by an expert team of chefs.

Al Masharef Turkish Restaurant

This restaurant is located on the Muscat Nizwa highway. The place is quite popular for its selection of mezes and kebabs and is seen as a welcome stop from dusty drives across the Jebel. This restaurant is open daily from 11 am to midnights.

Rose Lounge

As you can see Nizwa restaurants are mainly focused on Arabic food but if you do crave a drink and some small snacks the Rose Lounge located in the Alila Jabal Akhdar may be a good choice. Open from 11 am until the wee hours of the morning this restaurant is ideal for chilling out with friends and enjoying a drink.
