Online Mathematics Resources

This is a list of helpful online resources for teaching, learning and / or practising Mathematics. Not all will be be free. Please add to the list or comment if you have used the resource.

Prodigy Maths Game

Join over 3 million students, teachers, and parents using our free math game for Grades 1 - 8.
So engaging for every child I've introduced it to, and the teacher interface seems pretty good. They have certainly hit the sweet spot between game play and maths content here.

MyMaths

MyMaths is an interactive online teaching and homework subscription website for schools that builds pupil engagement and consolidates maths knowledge. It is used in over 70 countries by approximately four million students each year!

This is brilliant for classroom use - despite being based on the UK curriculum we have used it in my South African teaching environment for upwards of 200 students across grades 8-10. The Assessment Manager interface is really good and allows for individual and class tracking and task assignment.

NRich Maths

The Nrich Maths Project Cambridge,England. Mathematics resources for children,parents and teachers to enrich learning. Problems, children's solutions,interactivities, games, articles, news.

The Rational Number Project

The Rational Number Project is an ongoing research project investigating student learning and teacher enhancement.

The best fraction teaching programme I have ever come across. It is downloadable, research-based, and gives all the necessary lesson plans and equipment.

Graphing Stories - 15 seconds at a time

Graphing Stories: Short video stories that help students learn to graph on a plane.

Fantastic resource to engage learners and help them connect the mathematics with a physical reality.

Real World Math

Resource site for students and teachers with math activities for Google Earth.

VISUAL FRACTIONS

A fractions tutorial that models fractions with number lines or circles. Fraction tutorials, games, worksheets, and a fractions designer are included.

Everything Maths and Science

Online (or downloadable) free textbooks for Maths and Science. Bring your textbooks to life with videos and simulations.

Mathematics Assessment Project

The Mathematics Assessment Project is part of the Math Design Collaborative initiated by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The project set out to design and develop well-engineered tools for formative and summative assessment that expose students’ mathematical knowledge and reasoning, helping teachers guide them towards improvement and monitor progress. The tools are relevant to any curriculum that seeks to deepen students' understanding of mathematical concepts and develop their ability to apply that knowledge to non-routine problems.

Magical Maths” was set up in early 2007 and is one of the most influential teacher hubs in the world.

Easy to use, and great community support for lessons, activities, etc. Also brilliant for learners to download and use on their own devices.

JustMaths - GCSE Maths Tutorials, Revision and Resources - JustMaths

JustMaths is born from the passion and spirit of three full-time teachers at the “most improved school in England” (January 2013).
