5 Ways To Do Things And Stuff - Might Help Cure Your Boredom

Use these 5 cheap and easy methods to get back to the old you.

1

Fund A Thing

Fund A Thing

Did I say these methods were all cheap? Dude, sometimes you look at all the stuff you have and none of it sparks your interest. None of the video games you own are worth turning on, none of the movies you have make you smile ... And buying more of that crap is only going to perpetuate a cycle you will never be free from. We are zombies created to consume, consume, consume ... so you can embrace it and run up more bills on your credit card, or you can join some cause. There are Kickstarter campaigns and Patreon accounts where people just like you are trying to do something, and they need your money. You COULD give your money to some charity, but where's the fun in that? You're already a horrible person for having so much, and still being depressed, so you might as well hook up some creative people with the funds they need to comfortably keep being creative.

2

Make A List

Make A List

Remember when you were a kid and you'd make lists about what all things you'd have in your dream mansion when you grew up? Oh ... I'm the only one that did that?

Anyway, spend an afternoon doing a bit of research on what TV shows are returning, what Blockbuster movies are coming out, what toy lines are doing, what plans Little Debbie has for future snacks. This goes along with the Kickstarter list item, but if you can find a bunch of cool stuff you think you'd be interested in, then you can make a list with future dates that will give you something to look forward to, and something to talk about with like-minded folks.

Look, Markiplier isn't exactly "rising," but he was at one point... There are still tons of people out there that are looking for there big break, and they are trying hard as hell to get their voice heard. Sometimes having a random supporter that isn't in their family can give them the momentum to really get going and start creating something amazing.

Then when they eventually become famous, you can tell everyone you knew about them first ... you hipster you.

4

Create Something

Create Something

You've got to be careful with this one, because if you are having any sort of creative block, this could send you into even more of a depression.

You can get inspiration from all over the internet. Being creative doesn't have to mean painting a picture, or writing a book. Now you can record yourself talking, and call it a podcast for cripes sake.

I'm actually creating this listicle to defeat my own stint of apathy in the world ... and it's working.

Youtube has instructions on how to do anything YOURSELF. You could make a 3 course meal, or your own freakin' drone! Websites like Pinterest and Etsy can serve as inspiration for those who aren't trying to build their own cars, but rather want to make an outfit for their dog.

You could also just write or record your funny observations about life, and end up creating a stand-up comedy routine or song.

5

Break A Thing

Break A Thing

Creation is a powerful tool to defeat boredom. You can finish a project, step back, and marvel at something you made... Heck, you can even show it off to your friends and fans, and get some sort of satisfaction out of that.

For those times where creation is just too much work ... there is destruction.

You don't have to physically break something to be a part of the destructive arts. One good example would be that you could destroy your liver with alcohol... Or destroy a relationship with simple words. I really shouldn't advise this, but sometimes if you have to break things in order to fix them ... it can cause for a bit of temporary relief. Your loved ones might get tired of it pretty fast, so be careful when you decide to start stirring the pot.

Oh what's that? The title says 5 things, and this is item number 6??? Oh, well forget it then.
